file locked saying illegal qualified name character

i have a file that i use on a regular basis and have always saved and closed
it down ok and now have tried to get back in again as it says it cannot be
opened due to problems with the content and in the details part it says
'illegal qualified name character'. Is this file lost forever (god i hope
not) ??

Is it saved on a flash drive or something like that?
